The 100th anniversary of Mather Field is coming up in 2018, and the Rancho Cordova Historical Society is beginning to plan celebrations, beginning soon with local author and librarian James Scott talking about the then military base training aviators for the Great War. These free fascinating events will be held April 27, addressing the overall history of Mather Field, and June 15 looking at the base’s role in World War I. The programs will be held at6-8pm at Rancho Cordova City Hall, 2729 Prospect Park Drive. All are welcome.
