Sacramento City School Board member Christine Pritchett (a leader in the Rosemont community) announced at the recent RCA Board meeting that SCUSD has approved a resolution designating SCUSD a “Safe Haven School District.” This action is in response to concerns that many families had regarding bullying and rumors of deportation of family members. Providing an environment for effective learning that is physically, mentally and emotionally safe is vital if students are to learn and grow as solid citizens. This program has already drawn interest from other school districts looking to effectively address similar issues. Rosemont has been fortunate to have excellent schools and we are pleased the District has taken the initiative to assure they stay that way. A copy of the resolution, No. 2915, is viewable HERE.
